Although Balanced Brawl makes no overall changes to the physics engine of Brawl, a few minor but important tweaks do affect all characters. For example, Balanced Brawl removes random tripping from starting a dash. (Tripping caused by attacks or banana peels is unaffected.)
Another example is the glitch in standard Brawl that causes some characters to “remember” the landing lag of their special moves grabbing ledges. These characters are prevented from moving for the normal landing lag duration after jumping and landing on the ground. This glitch is fixed in Balanced Brawl.
