Wolf

Wolf at first seems like a well balanced character with a few abuse problems that need fixed. We quickly found this is not really true; as a balance situation, Wolf is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He needs real and substantial help on top of the external changes to his benefit.

Several small tweaks do help him, but the big story here is his ability to cancel his aerial Wolf Flash with a double jump. This is incredibly versatile, and while it is on the surface very similar to Fox’s upgrade, it has a lot of unique application that really suits Wolf’s playstyle. Wolf players will just have to explore the possibilities themselves!

Balanced Brawl Bonus: Can’t Let You Do That Star Fox Cancel

  • Wolf can do the cancels that both Fox and Falco can do. He can cancel aerial Wolf Flash into both double jump and wall jump, and he can cancel Fire Wolf into wall jump.

Other Major Changes

  • Forward tilt now has more knockback.
  • Neutral aerial is now always safe on hit.
  • Fire Wolf now hits in a more reliable way.
  • Non-down throws are generally improved.
