Samus was a difficult character to balance matchups around; making her better threatened to make some really bad matchups against characters that can’t deal with camping. Leaving her terrible was obviously not an option.

After enough work though, a powerful but fair Samus was established. Samus enjoys more damaging projectiles and stronger close quarter KO attacks, but she has a slightly weaker (1%) tether attack.

Samus remains focused on consistency. Patience will make the most of these improvements!

Balanced Brawl Bonus: Upgraded Arsenal

  • Samus’s projectiles are all more powerful. Homing Missiles and Bombs do more damage, Super Missiles do more knockback, and Charge Shot does both more damage and more knockback.

Other Major Changes

  • Jab combo now links properly.
  • Forward tilt and down smash now have more base knockback.
  • Down tilt and forward smash (especially angled downward) now kill better.
  • Throws are all around better.
  • Pummel can now hit Bowser, fixing an obscure glitch.
  • Dash attack and down aerial a bit better.
  • Tether attack does 1% less damage.
