King Dedede

King Dedede was always a decent character, but he represented a serious balance problem. His chain throw was a devastating technique that rendered some otherwise good characters bad, but it didn’t work against some other characters that gave King Dedede a very hard time.

In Balanced Brawl, King Dedede’s down throw has been reworked; it now devastates no one and works against everyone. King Dedede mains may at first be cautious toward the new down throw, but in the long run, it makes King Dedede not only more deep, more interesting, and more fair, but it probably makes him better too!

Balanced Brawl Bonus: Jet Propulsion

  • King Dedede’s Jet Hammer now rockets him forward upon use. The fully charged version sends him significantly further.

Other Major Changes

  • Down throw is no longer a chain throw but is now an excellent tech chase set-up.
